Position: Roadmaster® Operator / Driver
Archway Roadmaster UK Ltd. are currently recruiting for Roadmaster® Operator / Drivers to provide quality road maintenance and repair services to local authorities nationwide, meeting customer specifications. This is a seasonal role with the season usually running from late February to mid-October. This work will require the operator to stay away overnight for periods of up to two weeks at a time. Working days & hours are Monday - Friday varying from 8 hour to 10/11-hour days depending on the client and worksite. Weekend work may be available/ required on occasion but is not guaranteed.
Reporting to: Operations Supervisor
Main Duties: To operate the Roadmaster® Patcher Machine to carry out road maintenance and surface patching on client sites.
- To attend pre and post contract meetings
- To carry out road repairs to the necessary standard and meet output targets
- To complete all necessary reports (daily & weekly) using a tablet or smart phone
- To ensure environmental standards are maintained and prevent spillages
- To ensure the vehicle is operated and driven legally with courtesy to other road users
- To ensure service, product quality and daily output levels are reached and maintained
- To complete daily checks and maintenance of the vehicle
- To ensure that the Roadmaster® Patcher Machine is accurately calibrated according to the calibration schedule
- To fuel the vehicle as necessary and to drive in a fuel-efficient manner at all times
- To assist with minor repairs during breakdowns
- To inspect the vehicle(s) daily and report faults to supervisors and fleet support.
- To comply with health and safety procedures and policies to ensure the role is carried out without risk to self and others
- To carry out any other reasonable duties as required

Requirements
- A full clean Class 1 or Class 2 driving licence is required
- Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) & Digital Tachograph Card is required
- A minimum of 2 years’ driving experience is preferred
- Telehandler Ticket - A17C Telescopic Handler desired or training may be provided
- LANTRA T1/Module 1 desired or training may be provided
- Possession of a keen eye for level surfaces and irregularities would be helpful
- Previous experience in the use of an excavator, road repair materials, highway maintenance and Local Authority procedures would be an advantage
- Mechanical ability would be an advantage to facilitate minor servicing tasks and repairs on the machine
- Must be able to use a tablet and a smart phone, and email as work is reported using various apps’ etc.
- Fluency in English, both verbal and written is required
- Must be eligible to live & work in the UK
In order to carry out this role, operators will be provided with:

Hourly Rates:
- Initial training and inductions: £11 to £12 per hour weekdays & £16.50 to £24 per hour on weekends
- On job training period: £12.50 to £14 per hour weekdays & £18.75 to £28 per hour on weekends
- Operator after OJT: £13.50 to £15 per hour weekdays & £20.25 to £30 per hour on weekends
