Position title
Support Worker
Description
Our service is a 6 bed residential supporting 6 females with Learning Disabilities, Autism and Mental Health.
We are based on a farm in a rural part of Newark, so candidates must be drivers or be able to get to work via lifts/taxis, we are not on a public transport route.
Our service has 1:1 staffing ratios for all service users, with some receiving 2:1 care to enable them to access the community, which is a real perk to the job, as a lot of homes do not provide adequate staffing levels, resulting in additional duties and minimal engagement with the Service Users. Our ladies are very active and enjoy to go out every day, cinema trips, day trips, shopping, gym, swimming, going for meals/picnics etc.
The role will entail some personal care, some ladies require full personal care, some require prompts/minimal support and some require none at all. Our aim is to promote the individuals to live a fulfilled and autonomous life, so someone with an open, positive and engaged mindset is what we are looking for.
Experience is preferred, but not essential as we will provide all the required mandatory training. We offer an incentive of £100 at the start of the new year for those who have completed their training within the expected time frame. This incentive applies each year of training renewal. We are also supporting staff to achieve their NVQ in Health and Social Care, fully funded, so a great opportunity for those wanting to excel in their career.
We are a small service, so are able to provide person centred care. As the manager of the service, I ensure an open door policy is embedded and promote staff and service users to raise concerns that are always dealt with in a timely and professional manner. We do not tolerate poor practice or unprofessional conduct.
We have 2 full time vacancies for day staff 8am-8pm and 2 full time vacancies for night staff 8pm-8am. We can be flexible with the hours if they would only like 2 full days. One weekend on, one weekend off on a 2 week rolling rota basis- so they will always know what they are working.
Pay rate: £9.00 per hour for Support Workers and £9.50 per hour for Seniors, however, we would expect a Senior to have some previous experience within a leadership role.
Our night rotas work 7 nights on and 7 nights off, however, we can make adjustments for the right candidate if this doesn't suit. Our staff enjoy this way of working as it means they get 2 full weeks off for only 1 week annual leave.
